March Movie

    “THE RIDE”  Starring: Michael Biehn, Brock Peirce & Jennifer Blanc from World Wide Pictures, an arm of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, was the first movie we saw on March 24th  of, we hope, many more movies to come. Reviews from Movie Guide says “THE RIDE” is one of the best crafted movies from World Wide Pictures.                        Smokey Banks is a rodeo champion whose carousing has taken him out of the winner's circle.  He gets himself in trouble with the law and eventually, he is thrown in jail. One of his fans, young Brock Pierce a teen from the Saguaro Boy's Ranch for orphaned and troubled children, convinces the police to have Smokey serve his sentence at the ranch. He becomes involved in the life of Brock who is dying of cancer. Eventually, Smokey has to deal with God and his disappointment with himself.                                                                 The story and acting is captivating and very well written. We had about 25 to 30  in attendance with a few new comers who asked when we were showing the next movie.  We plan on having a new movie every six weeks.       Of course we had popcorn during the movie and hot dogs and snacks afterwards.
