The Light Is Shining At Holland Bible Church
As we enter the month of March, we continue to await some real winter weather. With no serious cold spells, no snow, and frequent really warm spells, this has been a somewhat weird season. Not that most folks are complaining. As we left February behind, we have already received an introduction to the winds of March, and we anticipate more days in which we need to pull the coats close and hold on to our hats. The waning dark days of winter tempted us to ponder things, inasmuch as we reject going outside when the winds are howling. In a world in which we are so often exposed to violence, cruelty and tragedy when we have our TV news on, we can become more than a little pessimistic about the way the real world exists. With the threat of evil and plague hanging over our daily existence, it’s easy to be more than a little uneasy about the future. So, does a cloud of negativity hang over us? Do many of the people around us – in our families, in grocery store crowds, in all the places where folks gather – represent a danger or, at least, some suspicion? Or, out there, are most of the people we pass in our daily doings really a source of help and friendship? During the last weeks of February, we had the opportunity to see and feel the joy and richness of our church family and the love with which we care for and support one another. This, of course, has almost always been so; but it is more palpable when a real need arises and everyone comes together in love and anxiousness to be of help.
We praise the Lord that, in our midst, there exists a company of saints so willing to support one another. And, in so doing, have displayed to the world in which we live that we are Christ’s disciples and have His love to share with everyone. We invite all people to see the Light that is shining at Holland Bible Church and join us and help dispel the gloomy cloud that hangs over this nation and this world. Virginia “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13: 34-35
